A Unique Venue at Sea

The team behind NOMA ISLAND understands that a concept of this scale will naturally attract attention and discussion. Innovation often does. History has repeatedly shown that new ideas are sometimes questioned, or even misunderstood, before they are fully appreciated.

NOMA ISLAND represents something new for the Mediterranean, and we are proud of that. It is the result of a shared vision among professionals who have a deep respect for the sea and believe that tourism can evolve in ways that are both responsible and inspiring.

The concept behind NOMA ISLAND is simple: to offer guests a unique experience at sea, away from the pressures and noise of everyday life on land, while operating according to the highest standards of environmental responsibility and maritime safety.

This vision is guided by three core principles.

Sustainability at the Core

NOMA ISLAND was designed and built with respect for the marine environment at its very centre. The ambition is clear: to demonstrate that tourism at sea can evolve in ways that respect and protect the environment on which it depends.

• Modern low-emission marine engines minimise atmospheric impact.
• Onboard water production systems reduce reliance on shore-based resources.
• A strict zero-discharge policy ensures that no wastewater, black or grey, is released into the surrounding sea.
• All waste generated onboard is collected, separated and transferred ashore by licensed eco-service vessels in accordance with established waste management procedures.
• All materials used in the construction, including the marine-grade aluminium hulls, are fully recyclable.
• Potential noise and light emissions have been carefully assessed through dedicated studies to ensure compatibility with the surrounding marine ecosystem.

A Place to Disconnect

NOMA ISLAND was never intended to replicate land-based nightlife. The vision is quite the opposite.

• A space where guests can step away from the pressures and noise of everyday life.
• An environment shaped by the openness and tranquillity of the sea.
• A setting designed for atmosphere, relaxation and a sense of escape.
• An experience that feels different from traditional venues because it is defined by the maritime environment itself.

A Living Maritime Vessel

Unlike fixed coastal structures, NOMA ISLAND is a fully self-propelled vessel.

• The vessel can adapt its location responsibly depending on weather and operational conditions.
• It avoids permanently occupying a single coastal site.
• The vessel operates under internationally recognised maritime regulations and certification standards.
• All operations are run by qualified maritime professionals and certified crew members.
• Safety procedures are designed to meet, and in many cases exceed, European maritime safety standards.

We recognise that introducing a new concept can bring curiosity, discussion, and sometimes scepticism. This is a natural part of progress in any open society. For this reason, NOMA ISLAND should ultimately be judged not by speculation, but by the way it operates in practice.

At its heart, the vision behind NOMA ISLAND is rooted in respect for the sea, responsible tourism, and the belief that thoughtful innovation can contribute positively to the Mediterranean experience.
