Passenger safety briefing

Welcome onboard NOMA ISLAND

Your safety is our top priority – please give your full attention to this safety brief to familiarise yourself with the emergency arrangements on board.

General Requirements

While onboard, the vessel may experience sudden motion as a result of prevailing sea conditions. In this regard, no running or hurried movement is allowed onboard at any point in time. Pay attention to all safety signs, warning notices, crew announcements, and comply immediately with any given instructions. Surfaces, particularly in the pool area, may be slippery when wet and caution is advised at all times. Entry in restricted areas is strictly prohibited.

During your time onboard, access to the pool and the designated sea-swimming area are strictly subject to authorisation by the Captain. This will depend heavily on weather, sea state, visibility and operational conditions. For your safety, children must be supervised at all times in pool or sea‑access areas. Never enter the water unless authorised, and only within the designated and cordoned swimming area. Jumping and diving are strictly prohibited.

For safety and security reasons, the vessel is monitored by a CCTV system, used strictly for safety security and operational purposes in accordance with the applicable laws. Additionally, passengers are not permitted to carry unauthorised objects on board, including weapons or hazardous items. All personal belongings may be subject to inspection and any suspicious or prohibited item must be reported immediately. For the safety of all onboard, excessive alcohol consumption, disorderly behaviour, or actions that may endanger yourself or others are not permitted. The crew reserve the right to restrict movement or access to certain areas should safety be compromised.

Pollution at sea is strictly prohibited under international law. Do not throw anything overboard at any time but dispose of waste in the designated bins on board.

Marine-related Requirements

In the case of an emergency, you will hear the alarm bell ringing. Please remain calm and follow the instructions given by the crew.

In the unlikely event of an emergency, you will be required to wear a lifejacket. These are stored in clearly marked lockers throughout the vessel and will be distributed by the crew. You will first need to unclip the top buckle, followed by the bottom buckle. To put it on, begin by placing the strap around your shoulder and place the jacket over your head. Then clip the bottom buckle and tighten the strap to fit, tucking the strap into the side of the vest. Then clip the top buckle and tighten. Your lifejacket also comes equipped with a light that will illuminate in contact with water. You may also light it manually by pressing it twice. There is also a whistle should you need to attract attention. Please ensure you are wearing you own lifejacket before helping others.

In the unlikely event of an emergency, passengers may need to abandon the vessel. This will be a verbal command issued by the captain through the onboard PA system. Please follow the instructions of the crew who will be there to assist in the evacuation procedure and guide you to the respective disembarkation stations, one area at a time. Please leave your personal belongings behind and proceed in a calm and orderly fashion. Walkways, access routes, and escape paths must be kept clear at all times. The disembarkation ladder will be set up by the crew, and passengers will be required to descend one by one. Passengers may be divided into liferafts found at these locations. Prior embarking on the liferafts, you will be requested to remove your shoes.
